That was scary.
I came home Thursday night, anticipating a giant ton of comments on my rhinoceros post (well, maybe half a ton. Or at least enough to cheer me up.)
Instead, when I tried viewing my blog, I saw this on the screen:
Blog has been removedSorry, the blog at jannaverse.blogspot.com has been removed.
My heart stopped for a moment.
I had NO clue what this message meant.
My blog was gone.
Jannaverse was gone, and so was Jantrails.
All my Blogger blogs were gone!
I clicked on the link it gave, and it sent me to a page where it said "We've detected suspicious/unusual activity on your account; please verify who you are" (or something like that.)
It sent a verification code to my cell phone, and I had to enter that code on the Blogger webpage to prove that I really am Janna. Then they sent me to another Blogger page where I had to change my password. I kept looking up at the URL in the address window to make sure it was really a Blogger page and not some scam.
Then, finally, my blog showed up again.
What a relief.
I was really feeling shock and disbelief for a few moments there.
Five years of blog posts had disappeared.
Thank goodness they're back now.
Because certainly the world couldn't continue to exist without posts like this or this or this.
Or this. Or this.
They never did tell me what "suspicious/unusual activity" prompted the freeze.
I may never know.
It doesn't look like my blog got hacked or anything; as near as I can tell, it still looks the same.
Do me a favor and let me know if you see anything that doesn't look like it belongs here, ok?
Now, if I can only stop shaking long enough to type my Friday 55 post....
