Janna rambles on and on while people exchange meaningful glances

The weather is pleasantly cool and breezy today, and I'm grateful. I even like the colorless drab grey sky and the absence of sunshine. I've never been much of a sunshine-loving person anyway.

Perfect weather to sleep late, under a cozy blanket, with a warm cat next to you.

Which is exactly what I did.

Today I need to buy light bulbs, cat food, a few gallons of water, and maybe some dignity and inner peace. Do they have that at the dollar store, or am I going to have to go to a hardware store or something?
I hope it's not at the mall. Not only will it be hideously overpriced, but my back hurts too much today to walk around the ghastly mouse-maze of malldom.

Note to self: Shower before you leave home; people may not want to sell inner peace to someone who stinks like the unwashed masses.

It's been pretty cool here, too. It's good because it costs money to run the air conditioning. This is natural air conditioning. I don't like to be hot and the sun just burns me. I can live a few weeks without it.

I hope you find some dignity and inner peace at the dollar store.

Don't shower to go to the Dollar Store. Nobody in there will have showered. ;-)

Like you, I get tired of the sunshine. We have lots of it here in Colorado. More than our fair share. I pray for grey. As far as dignity goes, I sold mine long ago, and I don't know where to get any. Dylan wrote a pretty good song about it, though. Listen to that, and see if it helps.

Shelli: Natural air conditioning IS greatly appreciated. When I drove home, the bank thermometer said it was 60 degrees out there. Perfect!

ReformingGeek: If only I'd known that earlier!

MikeWJ: I agree. Sunshine has a relentless way of beaming down and causing me to wilt, much like boiling water poured on lettuce.

You can buy inner peace from the guy at the taco stand. You have to ask for it because he keeps it in the back.

Sounds like a perfect morning. When I lived with just cats I could do that. Sometimes I miss being single.

Janna, I'll definitely take the cooler air( especially after yesterday's suffocating heat and humidty ). And we have a spring where we get water for free!

DaOldMan: Does it meet Health Department regulations?

Grace: Singleness can be good and bad.... at the same time. :(

Subtorp77: That reminds me, I have two gallons of water in the back seat of the car which I forgot to carry indoors. Drat.

Ah, but do tou have to haul it up to the third floor? I'll take six at a time( if I'm not too tired ). Those store "green" bags are pretty sturdy...

Subtorp: Thankfully, no, I only have to haul them up the three steps of my front porch. Which reminds me, I still haven't...

Janna, good thing it wasn't that pot roast, you left! HA!

And please, you can just call me "Subby". Most everyone does :)

Subtorp77: I hate pot roast. Can I leave it in your car instead?

Janna only if I can use it as a power-sorce...somehow....?

Subtorp: Good luck hooking the jumper cables to it.
