Travis: This is scary, but I think that log is so CLOSE that "breaking right" would just make it come through the side window instead of the windshield. Yikes!

You know, that is one of my "irrational" fears - that something off a truck in front of me will go flying off into my car.

I think you'd make it through. Break right refers to an aviation term and simply means hit the gas and go hard right right. In a fighter jet that would roll you right away from the threat.
I think a fast break right would get you to the right shoulder in time. That log's momentum is to the center divider.

This is one of my irrational fears--not that 'something' will fall off a truck but that one of these log carrying things will come loose and get me.
