Manic Monday: Chip
I've always loved having fun looking nail polish. It's a great way to express personality and creativity. Part of my Cosmetology training involved manicuring techniques, of course, and once I get my license (sometime in the next few months, maybe??), I'll be able to unleash this kind of thing on the rest of the world. ("Coming to a hand near you...")
For right now, though, I'm my own guinea pig. I do my nails in a different design every week. The polish would last for maybe TWO weeks if I wanted it to, but then it would start to chip. I hate it when that happens, so I just do my nails fresh each week.
Here are some of the designs I've done during the past few years of my apprenticeship:
(Click for larger version, if you can't see them clearly enough)I love the opportunity to be wild and crazy. Even if the rest of me is feeling withdrawn or depressed, at least my nails can shout "HEY!!!!" to the rest of the world.

When I was little, my youngest, coolest aunt did American flags on her nails~ red, navy blue, white~ she used a toothpick to do the little stars.
I thought it was soo cool, when I was in art college during Summer Semester, I did my thumbnails that way for 4th of July.
My hands on the whole are not pretty enough to draw attention to, like that, so I usually don't paint my nails.
I have Dick Cheney's profile painted on my nails.
This takes me back to my drunken college days when, while passed out, my nails were painted and I was written on in permanent ink. They weren't nearly as creative as you! I would have actually enjoyed YOUR designs!
I used to do so much to my nails in HIgh School. I used a detail brush and everything. I can't even come close to that takent now. Yours are AWESOME!!!! Nice work. I now wait for my nails to chip because I don't own nail polish remover and it helps me to scape the stuff off.
Nails that shout HEY!
Sounds like a Stephen King novel. ;)
Steve~
This is interesting artwork - not permanent like tattoos and very creative.
I love the way you were able to get all 4 of your hands in some of the pictures! You're so talented!
I'm LOL at Cincy Diva's comment about getting all 4 of your hands in some of the photos!
I can attest to "live, in person" accounts on Janna's nails -- they're never the same twice!!!
Thats a cool twist on the chip theme. Those are neat.
Later Y'all
Mr. Fab: I charge extra for that.
Christine: I've done flags on people's nails before too!!
Matt-man: Where is Bush's profile painted?
Steven: If only there were pictures of 'the permanent marker' incident for you to post!
Natalie: Go out and buy some polish remover!! It's cheap and easy to use!
Novak: In a Stephen King novel, the nails would also claw your eyes out and eat you.
Travis: Thank you!
Cincy Diva: Well, I needed my FIFTH hand free to hold the camera...
Morgen: Thank you for the testimonial! :)
Meloncutter: Thanks! :)
I love the rainbow nails. It has been a while since I painted my nails. Even when I got them professionally done, in the far distant past, they always chip and peel the second day. I hate chipped nail polish. The last time I did paint my nails and toes was when I had my last child. I figured since the nurses and doctors where gonna be down there they should have cute piggies to look at.
Silly, but they appreciated it, or humored me.
Danielle: Cute; I bet they appreciated it. :)
