Various Thoughts

1. I am so tired I could leap into the ocean wearing a suit made of lettuce. (It's ok; sharks hate lettuce.)

2. I still need to finish answering blog comments. Sorry I've taken so long. Please don't leave me for some other blogger who's 20 years younger and blond.

3. I will be 42 next Wednesday. That sound you hear is me shrieking in horror.

4. Are you wearing socks right now? Just curious.

No I'm not swearing socks - my slippers have that warm fuzzy lining - socks not necessary. Oh I wish I were 42 again...

Grace: When I was in my teens, I thought 40 was disgustingly old, teetering close to death. Now I look at the calendar and realize "Wow, um... here I am..."

Happy Birthday from the guy wearing socks. Darn it, you're 42. (hahahaha, get it. Darn it? Oh sometimes...)

Turning 39 was traumatic for me. Then again, so was turning 30. When I was growing up, you weren't supposed to trust anyone over 30. Now, in my 50s, 42 is a youngster. And the meaning of life. So, have a great birthday.

And yes, for the record, I'm wearing socks.

And I'd never leave you for a blond blogger. Unless he's really, really hunky. ;)

42 wasn't a big deal for me. I had a difficult time when I turned 8, that's when I suddenly came to the realization that I had lived 10% of my life. I was a different person. Peeing in my bed could no longer be excused, it became an embarrassment.

nonamedufus: Darn... Ohhhhhh. I get it. Darn. :)

Shelly: 39 was traumatic for me too. More so than 40. It was the loss of my thirties, which somehow symbolized my youth... Did I mention I'm 42 and still single?

Shawn: LOL! Yes, that would definitely be a turning point. :) It all makes sense now...
