And they all rhyme with "orange"

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"I'm writing haiku for rebellious nonconformists," she explained proudly. "The first line has as many syllables as I want, the next two lines have whatever I want, and the next ten lines--"

"Wait; haiku only has three lines."

She rolled her eyes contemptuously. "Don't make me come over there."

Sometimes a brief statement just doesn't say it all...
Her last one did though!
Cool post!

Some people just don't get it, do they?

Ha! Thought I forgot didn't you?
Janna...You are like that last big mouthful of Lavoris, after wolfing down a whole can of sardines!

StanSki: Thanks for visiting! I see your Friday 55 post has lots of haiku. :)

Changnoi: LOL. It takes some people longer. :)

G-Man: (!!!) Yes, I DID think you forgot. In fact, I had to read your comment twice before I finally saw it there at the bottom. LOL. Thank you. :)

MonkeyMan: I wouldn't have haiku any other way. :)

Ji: I don't know if it qualifies as beautiful, but hopefully it's at least fun and silly and full of Friday-ness. :)

Sh@KiR@ CK: You're a rebellious nonconformist? How many lines does YOUR haiku have? :)

what a rebel you are...some just have to do it their way. nice 55.

mine is up!

Okay, so I get in trouble for this comment:

I have not met the woman that would submit to just three lines, when ten or more would better explain their feelings about a subject.

Janna's humor is best
We all leave smiling..
Loved your 55.

That's the best I could do with Haiku. Oh man, I'm a poet and didn't know it.

Lame, I know. Shoot me first.

Sunrise in the City ---as always, scroll down below my Show n Tell. Hope you're having a terrific Friday!!!

You meant you don't do Hak Ku's that way? Late for me, this week, what with work demanding I do what I'm paid to do. I mean, what a cheek. My 55 story here

Ed & Jeanne said...

You mean it's a sort of poem? And all this time I thought somebody was sneezing...

But you followed the 55 word thingum, so it all works out okay.

I would be the break the rules of haiku writing. Isn't that what rules are for?

thanks for the 55!!!

Brian: My way may not be the best, but at least it's the most fun. :)

Buzzard: If you duck right now, you might be able to avoid the bullets.

Hootin'Anni: Don't worry, I won't shoot anyone. I need all the readers I can get. :)

John's comments: Work can be so annoying that way!

VE: I suppose it could include a sneeze, if you could determine how many syllables it had!

Marilyn: All's well that ends in 55 words. Unless the 55 words involve eating onions.

Leslie: Hooray for re-defining rules! Tonight I'm going to drive 70 in a 55 zone, except instead of "speeding" I'm going to call it "automotive expediency". Think the cops will buy that?

Thanks

my 55 is up...sorry I'm late

I love this! And I also like the idea of a free form haiku. It would make it a lot easier to compose one.

PattiKen: Thank you!

VodkaLogic: Your name always makes me ponder what "Vodka Logic" would be... and how a chess tournament would work out if that was the only kind of logic they used. At least it would be entertaining to watch.

Kathcom: Exactly! And with no rules, we could call it anything we wanted! Instead of "Haiku", it could be "Chocolate Flamingo Drawers."
See? Anything!
