The prisons are full of people who ate pancakes at 10:01

When I was a kid, I felt it was morally ethically intrinsically [insert similar adverb here] WRONG to eat breakfast food at dinnertime. It felt like someone was cheating, breaking the universal breakfast rules which clearly say that eggs/toast/sausage/cereal/omelettes/pancakes/hashbrowns/etc may only be consumed in the hours between 4 am and 10 am. I forget where exactly I found these rules, but I'm sure they're out there somewhere, stamped firmly on the fabric of space-time.

What's interesting is that I've apparently reached a point in my life where I no longer care about the breakfast rules. I've been known to shamelessly eat bowls of cereal in the evening, sausage-egg-cheese biscuits for lunch, and waffles for a late-night snack.

Tonight, for example, I had french toast and scrambled eggs for dinner.

So far I still haven't been struck dead.
Here's hoping.

How about you guys? Did you ever feel like there were somehow "rules" against eating breakfast stuff at non-breakfast times? How old were you when you changed your mind? When was the last time you ate breakfast for dinner? What's your favorite breakfast thing to have at odd times of the day/night?

----------------------------------------------------------
Breakfast:
Hash browns
Bottle of Dasani water

Lunch:
Two grilled burritos made with the fake ground meat (see yesterday's post for recipe)
1 pear
Hot herbal tea

Snack:
Grapefruit
More tea

Dinner:
French toast
Scrambled eggs
Ice cream (!)
----------------------------------------------------------

P.S. This afternoon someone robbed a local bank. I swear it wasn't me. Proof of this can be found in the fact that I am still poor.

When I was a pup, it was a treat to have waffles or pancakes for the last meal of the day. Mother would put the waffle maker right on the table and we would eat them hot off the griddle.
Yum.
So, I am a breakfast anytime person. Except now the Log Cabin Maple Syrup really makes me fart. (You may consider this a plus.)
Good luck stalking the bank robber.

You're kidding right? Damn "breakfast" for dinner is my favorite! What do you think all those people in IHOP are doing there at 7 pm?

I do not cook in the morning - no way, no how, which means breakfast for dinner on a regular basis. I love breakfast.

You know I could easily live on your current diet - everything sounds to good (and healthy).

Go Janna!

I don't think I ever really had any problems with eating breakfast anytime. But, I was always more of a dinner food for breakfast person. Cold leftover pizza for breakfast was alwyas my favorite! YUM!

Hey girlfriend...I'm glad to hear you're eating some real food. Because that FMS (fake meat s**T) will give you gas so bad you could service a dirigible.

I have always and forever been a food rebel. I would eat breakfast for supper anytime...daring the food police to come find me. Still do.

Especially omelets. And eggs and potatoes and bacon and toast. And waffles. Yummmmm....waffles......

Scrambled eggs and french toast?

Someone is looking for those big ad dollars from the Egg Advisory Board.

GoingLikeSixty: Log cabin syrup? Really? What a shame that I don't like syrup. I'll just have to double up on the beans instead.

Grace: It's been years (like maybe 30 years) since I've been in an IHOP. I don't think I've ever been in one past breakfast hours, so I have no clue what their lunch and dinner menus have. Do they serve actual lunchy foods too, or is it only breakfast all day long? Just curious.

Collette: I like having dinner food for breakfast sometimes too. :) Although I never really got into cold pizza. For me, pizza always has to be hot. I know I'm in the minority on that. :)

Subby: I don't think I've ever had a fried egg sandwich. Well, no, wait... I did have a breakfast sandwich at a local diner awhile back... it was on a bagel, and also had cheese, sausage, and a fried egg. It wasn't bad! :)

Akannie: LOL!!! This explains why all those dirigible companies have been calling me.

SinisterDan: Yes! Exactly; why bother robbing banks when I can simply get my millions from the Egg Advisory Board, brainwashing the masses! It's brilliant, I tell you!

I just don't like breakfast foods. Not at any time of the day. I usually order a chili burger for breakfast if I can. Seriously.

MikeWJ: Really? No breakfast foods? Not even a sausage-egg-cheese bagel, all savory and yummy and melty and good? Or a breakfast burrito, which coincidentally also involves sausage, egg, and cheese?
(**janna pauses to wipe away drool**)
And when you say "Chili Burger", do you mean a burger with chili peppers on it, a burger seasoned with chili powder, or a burger with chili poured over it?
