On a good day, I can even lift D-batteries

Things an ant might not be able to carry even if he made a million dollars a year and was on all the steroids his trainer could procure:

1. Pipe cleaners
2. Roll of scotch tape
3. AA batteries
4. Pigeons
5. Shoelaces
6. Pine cones
7. Leather gloves
8. Wad of bubble gum

Ironically, I can lift all these things with ease despite being on no drugs at all, yet I am pitifully poor.
Something is wrong with the universe.

Something is wrong with the universe? What? What's wrong with the universe, Janna? Now I'm worried. What if whatever's wrong requires me to lift something really heavy, or even not so heavy, but I can't do it and then everything explodes and humans are wiped out, leaving the Earth to the ants? I can't sleep.....

ponder the ant...he has so much to teach...

MikeWJ: Exactly. If the world ends, it will be all your fault. Sweet dreams!

Brian: That's in the Bible, even! Proverbs 6:6-8... I wonder if ants can teach me how to remove the calories from a pint of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia...

Every see a carpenter ant?

Like bulldozers. They might even make off with a pipe cleaner,if sugarcoated enough.

But they give me the willies for some reason.
Portents of something.

Ivan: I'm not all that fond of them either. They crawl on you if you try sitting outside in the summertime. That and mosquitoes are the reason I like to stay indoors. I'm as pale as Twinkie filling, but it's worth it. :)

Is that live pigeons or dead ones? Could make all the difference.

Mik: Good point. The dead ones are heavier. The live ones seem lighter, but it's just because they're trying to fly away. On a good day, I can carry both. If only we had more pigeons in Michigan so I could practice...
