Because once in awhile, short is good... I hope.
Today I'm going to try something new called "Friday Flash 55."
I got the idea from VE, who got it from Mr. Knowitall.
Anyway, the idea is to write a mini-story using exactly 55 words.
If all goes well, I'll post one every Friday.
Here's the first:
.................................................................................
Leanne gestured wildly to her friend Sam as she described the ordeal.
"So then, I tried finding saffron and fennel but all I had was oregano. And my blender broke, and the bleu cheese was three shades of green."
"So you gave up?"
"Yes," Leanne sighed. "That's why my breath smells like Chicken McNuggets now."

I decided instead to write a comment that contained 55 characters.
chicken nugget breath is better than bleu cheese breath...lol. nice 55.
mine is up!
Oh, I'd take extra aged bleu cheese any day Brian!
Great debut effort Janna. Enjoy the rest of your fellow 55'ers as we will you.
You'll find 55 ~ Skipping Stones posted.

Whall: Your compulsion to overachieve is endearing, even if you don't count spaces and punctuation as characters. It's ok. Group hug. No grabbing. :)
Brian: Just the thought of bleu cheese breath makes me want to chew a stick of gum! :)
Chef Kar: Thanks for the welcome!
LOL. Excellent story!
I can't drive 55 much less write 55?
LOLOLOL.....Love this. Perfect for your first attempt!! [sometimes it's NOT easy] ----and on a 2nd note, I'd much rather have Mickey D's than bleu cheese!!!
Have a terrorific Halloween tomorrow---
My 55 is a two-parter this week...
Trick or Treats HERE
Not finding saffron is a tragedy. This is therefore a very sad 55.
But very well done.
I have finished my 55.
You’ll find it
HERE.
.
But it’s a groaner.
Great 55 story!!
A great 55 right out of the chute. I think we have all walked in those shoes. Thanks and hope to see more 55's from you. My 55 is posted HERE.
Janna....
I Love Food 55's!!!
Thank you so very much for this cherry-poppin contribution!
Please join us again next friday.
You Rock Everything South of Hillsdale!
Have a Kick-Ass Week-End...G
Oh that looks like fun. Maybe I'll join in next week.
cute one. I''m new at this too. My first is up.
Alice: Welcome, and thank you. :)
Uncivil: You're back! So does this mean you won the steel cage death match with Nancy? Will we be hearing your name in the news? :)
Hootin'Anni: I'd rather have McD's than bleu cheese too. :)
Dr.John: Perhaps even sadder is the fact that I don't think I've ever eaten anything with saffron in it. :( I'm sure it's wonderful, though. At least it had better be, considering what it costs.
Lee: Thanks! I tried! :)
MonkeyMan: Thanks and welcome!
G-Man: If all goes well, I'll do one of these every week. Thanks for visiting! I must be really great if I rock everything south of Hillsdale... especially since I live North of Hillsdale. :) LOL!
Marilyn: It is tons of fun, and is perfect for readers/writers with almost no attention span! I highly recommend it.
Sarah: Welcome! Thanks for visiting.
Well done!
Agree with everyone else...well done. However, I do like bleu cheese, especially with wings, which The Wife, of course, hates. Ummmm, makes me love them all the more. ;)
Congratulations! Your first 55 and you knock it out of the park.
The only reason I ever did a second 55 was because people were kind enough to encourage me. Consider yourself encouraged...see you next week!
Travis: What a coincidence; that's exactly how I like my steak!
UnfinishedRambler: I used to like bleu cheese dressing when I was a kid but now I can't stand it.
Hope: Yes! Thank you; see you next week!
I prefer chicken nuggets to bleu cheese.
Lynda: Me too!
Nahhhh....couldn't get the steel cage date, but you might hear my name in the news one day?????
Uncivil: I'm sure Nancy is relieved. :)
OMG this is just too funny. I love it :) Well done my friend. Have a great week ahead :)
Thom: Welcome back to the Jannaverse. Good to see you again. :)
That's the best 55-word short story I've ever read. I contains a lot of emotion for being so short.
MikeWJ: Ooooh! Well, stay tuned. I wrote a whole bunch of them and they're all pre-loaded and set to post every Friday just after midnight. If I remember correctly, the next one is in poetry form.
