My internal clock needs new batteries

This afternoon I was so tired I planned on going to sleep right after I got home.
I got home around 5, and went to bed at 6:01.
At 8:30, a mere two and a half hours later, I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep.
Here I am now, at 11 pm, wondering when I'm going to be tired enough to go back to bed.

Things you could do to help:

1. Pour me a nice cup of chamomile tea and tell me all about the time you drove to Ohio for no reason.

2. Explain Einstein's Theory Of Relativity, using only hand gestures and body language, dressed as a mime.

3. Explain to my cats that it's really not nice to walk on me while I'm trying to sleep. Emphasize that little footprints on my liver and kidneys are not as cute as they sound.

4. Send cookies.

The cookies are on their way (because I care, but also because I owe you).

But I did have a very interesting drive to Ohio once. Let's see it all began about 17 years ago when I was still living with my parents, Clarence and Margarat, in that little house on Bourbon Street. It was such a cute place and......zzzzzzzzzz.

Well I've never been to Ohio via car or any other form of transportation; I have no idea what Einstein's theory is beyond that old e equals M-C squared; explaining anything to a cat is a waste of time and effort, soooo I guess I'll just send cookies. Double chocolate with nuts maybe?

Chocolate chip cookies on the way! The chocolate will help you sleep (this is what I tell myself when there are chocolate mints around here) - very therapeutic.

I have never driven to Ohio but I could tell you about all the computer games I like, and why I love Mah Jong Panda and Spider Monkey Solitaire and blah blah blah...see, nearly asleep now ;)

Cookies are definitely a cure-all. I prefer my aunt's patented "rock cookies". Walnuts, raisins, and chocolate chips.

Or, like I did last night when I couldn't sleep... write a rant about how much Jay Leno's new show sucked.

MikeWJ: Seventeen years ago, I would have been in college, having just broken up with my ex-best-friend (who, coincidentally, was from Ohio).

Grace: No nuts! Just chocolate! Thanks. :) Quadruple chocolate if possible. :)

Lidian: Yay! Cookies! Mints! Chocolate is very therapeutic. Even better than computer games. :)

Chris: Rock cookies? Because they're hard as a rock, or because she hides rocks in them to break your teeth? I'm not a fan of walnuts or raisins, but chocolate is always a good idea. :)

Jeff: I used to like Jay Leno back in the old days, but then his jokes started getting mean. He used to be the "nice" guy. Then it flip-flopped to where Letterman was actually the nicer guy. I haven't watched the Tonight Show in over ten years.
(I used to have a huge crush on Conan, back when he first got his "Late Night" show in 1992-93, but that crush kinda fizzled out after awhile so I don't have any real desire to watch HIM doing the Tonight Show either. :)
As soon as I post this comment, I'll click over to read your rant....

How about the time I drove to Ohio dressed as a mime with my cat duct taped to my head...just to get cookies. Would that suffice?

So, when did you actually fall asleep? What worked?

VE: That would be great!

Ruth: I think I finally fell asleep around 3 in the morning, just from sheer exhaustion.
