Oh, so THAT'S what you look like

I got my new glasses on Thursday.
The (*cough*) bifocals (*cough*).

So now I can see my world much better.

I can even read that tiny print on the side of the Excedrin bottle.

It says "Only you can prevent forest fires."

Oooops. What have I been TAKING all these years?!

I got mine 2 years ago. Trust me, you'll love them in no time. Well, except when you're trying to lie back on the bed and watch TV and it's all blurry because you're looking out the bottom of them instead. But that's why you have to save your old glasses and put them on your bed stand. That way you will have TV glasses too! See, I have everything all figured out. You're welcome!

Wow. I don't wear any kind of glasses and Jeff has me convinced.

Jeff: OMG, wow, yes! This almost makes me want to actually have a TV in my bedroom... (instead of, you know, piles of laundry and stuff.)

Marilyn: He's good!

And now you can see! YAY!

But bifocals would never work for me. I only need them for seeing for away and take them off for reading. Ok I don't take them off, I raise them up on my forehead and that's a good look for me.
Right?

Janna, obscure reference: Cookie( the mess-hall chef in the Beetle Baily cartoon ), once got a new pair of glasses...then he was able to see what he'd been cooking all those years...GAH!

And don't worry, your eyes will adjust before you know it. Mine did :)

I stopped wearing bifocals because whenever I was going down stairs I would be looking through the wrong part and trip and fall - stupid things! And I still couldn't see the computer screen really well...now I just wear glasses for distance, my near vision is not so bad that I need glasses - hate bifocals and trifocals are even more annoying

Travis: Yaaaaayy!

DaOldMan: Of COURSE it'd a good look. That's why the nurses wanted to give you all those sponge baths!

Subtorp77: I don't think I'll have any problem. My eyes are adjusting just fine. :)

Grace: Yes, so I hear... other people have warned me about stairs too! Luckily I don't have many stairs in my life, other than the 3 or 4 on my front porch.

Huzzah! And grace was right; trifocals-GAH!

That's better than seeing "for external use only and only works on garden variety rats"

Subtorp: I think I might actually like trifocals. Maybe someday I'll get to find out.

Whall: True! :o

Janna, pray not. My condition was based on being born with weak eye musculature( thanks Dad! )and it took me 6 long years of eye exercises to correct it. Not fun when you're a kid; worse if you're an adult, so hopefully these will help correct yours a bit...
