Bite me, John Philip Sousa

I made this today, after seeing all the %$#@%^ marches we're going to be playing in our next concert.
No one will get the joke except for people who play the french horn, but that's ok. Please offer sympathy anyway. And maybe some sedatives.

John Phillip Sousa is GOD

Or at least that's what I was led to believe by our college's music director. The town my college is in even has a John Phillip Sousa festival because of that zealot, even though I'm pretty sure other than that there's no real connection between John Phillip Sousa and Danville, Kentucky.

So, want to take a Kentucky road trip this summer? I know of a festival you'd really enjoy!

Morgen: He is NOT God. I would, however, consider the possibility that he is the antichrist. So of course the whole Kentucky thing fits right in....

Um, I don't play French Horn, but I did play in the 77th AD Band (that's Army speak for an ARMY BAND) and in the 49th AD Nat'l Guard Band.

I know Sousa and marches.

and I know the upbeats.

that is all. As you were.

Dismissed.

Is it bad that I love a good march? It must be bad because you wrote cartoon swear words today.

Whall: Yikes! I bet military bands play a LOT of marches. (**shudder** **twitch**)

Travis: Yes. It IS bad.

If, while I am enjoying the annual Marine Band concert on July 4th, I promise to hold in my heart special appreciation for the french horns, may I continue to enjoy the marches?

Peggy: The special appreciation must be presented in writing, in triplicate, along with a sympathy card and a box of chocolates for each horn player you see.
