Getting to know people out there

Last Saturday I did something I've never done before!
I met someone from the blogosphere!
An actual real live person that I met through blogging.... (different from Morgen and Lee and Steve, who I knew long before any of us started blogging)
This may sound like no big deal to you guys, but it really freaks me out to meet new people in person. I'm very self-conscious about that, for reasons I'd rather not go into.
I'd made plans to spend the day with Morgen on Saturday. Well, it just so happened that Wayne was also in town that day, and he stopped in to visit Morgen too! Wayne and Craig live in Lansing, but they were both spending some time in the area camping. So I got to meet them both.
My heart froze in a moment of self-conscious terror as Morgen introduced us.
But apparently there was no need to worry.
Wayne is very cool. He is a sweet, awesome, funny guy! So is Craig!
What a relief!
(Here's a picture I took of Morgen & Wayne)
Wayne's first words to me were "I thought you were Paris Hilton!"
I love people who publicly admit that they read my blog.
LOL ;)

I've met a few people from internet land that probably should have remained in internet land... but most people are just as nice in person as they are on the computer. Wayne seems like a great guy... how cool that you got to meet him.

Janna, Craig and I were just as nervous about meeting Morgen. And he said you might be there too! So double nervous. It's one thing making comments on a blog. It's totally different making converstion in person. But we needent have been. You both made us feel very welcome. I'm happy to have been be your first! ;-)

ps...7 of your favorite movies, are mine too!

Meeting other bloggers is awesome, isn't it?

Awesome? I must be having 80s flashbacks...

Aw, Wayne's comments are very sweet. Of course, he looks like such a nice guy - hard to imagine he wouldn't have been as nice as he looks!

It was a fun afternoon!
Meeting Wayne & Craig, getting my ass kicked in Scrabulous, Meatsa Pizza, and nibbling on Mark Avenue peanut butter cups!

This must have been the weekend for 'meet and greets'!

I felt the same before meeting metalmom and her friend. but I felt like I already knew metalmom a little and I wasn't nervous. sometimes I like being anonymous though, it seems more mysterious.

I look forward to the day when I can meet a fellow blogger. I talk to bloggers more than my 'real life' friends, so I really should meet a blogger someday...

Marilyn: He was very nice! :)

Wayne: Awww! How sweet!

Turnbaby: I wish I could be there!!

Finn: I prefer the word "groovy," myself...

DesertSongbird: Exactly true!

Morgen: All very fun things!

Metalmom: LOL! That's right!

Teri: There is a certain "safety" to being anonymous, I agree.

Mr. Fab: We've talked on the phone but haven't met in person. Unless you came up here one day while I was drunk...

MichaelC: Collect the whole set! Keep them in your basement!
