After a month's vacation, tonight is our first band rehearsal of the fall season.
I'm gonna let ya in on a little secret here...
I haven't practiced at all.
Haven't even taken the horn out of the case.
Woops.
Well, hopefully I won't sound TOO much like a dying calf tonight.
Shhhh..... don't tell anyone.

Babygirl is at band camp this week (NO JOKES) after a summer of boyfriend and pool. Her biggest complaint upon coming home last night was not the heat, but " MY fingers didn't want to work!"
I thought I was hearing a dying calf last night. Are you saying it was you?
I'm going to have severe band parent withdrawal this season. My son's high school band days are over. Consolation prize - my Monday/Friday nights are not spent being a band taxi. Bummer - no more field shows to attend. He's still in the concert band at the community college, but they only perform one concert at the end of the semester.

I love the French horn. I doubt you could sound like a dying calf even without having practiced in awhile. A really ill calf, maybe, but dying? Naaaaahhh...
Metalmom: I know that feeling!
Lynda: It... MIGHT have been me...
Peggy: Concert band is SO much better than field shows!
Desert Songbird: Thank you. :)
Dying calves are music to my ears. I love veal.
Mr. Fab: Now I'm craving veal parmagiana... with plenty of rich zesty marinara sauce, cheese, and tender pasta.... garlic bread....
Mmmmmmmmmmm......
