Manic Monday: Wind

Ok.
Lemme preface this by saying that I almost NEVER wear dresses, but I DO almost always wear underwear. So a couple days ago I figured, just for the heck of it, "Why not switch the two and go out in public wearing a dress but no underwear?"
So that's exactly what I did.
I went grocery shopping wearing my favorite black dress (The one I sometimes wear for band concerts), with no underwear.
It was drafty, with just a little bit of wind outdoors. For a moment I feared a "Marilyn Monroe" moment, with my dress blowing upward and exposing my bare naked nether regions to everyone around. But thankfully, my secret remained hidden.
I shopped, I loaded up the car, carried the groceries indoors, and began wondering how exactly I should blog about this....
.
And yes, I'm aware that for some strange reason my posts lately seem to involve the possibility of indecent exposure and/or nudity... not sure entirely why, but hey, enjoy it while it lasts.

That must have felt really funny. I don't think I would have had the nerve to do that--bravo for trying something new.

Someone with IBS doesn't dare try that...I'm not into Depends yet but it's like a security blanket!!!

tegdirb: It felt unusual, but not necessarily in a bad way... :)

Gracie: LOL! Yes, I can understand that!! :o

OMG - LOL @ Gracie! hehehe

As my Scottish (Sco'ish) neighbour says 'I don't see the reason to wear knickers'... but I do have a pair or two if I am forced to wear a dress or skirt. I can't relax knowing I have nothing to protect me from public humiliation!

Nakedness without pictures. You are a tease. I like that.

I have never done the commando act. I just don't feel right without the little feller tucked away comfortably into a safe position. You are my queen.

Later Y'all.

I just can't go commando. I don't know what my mother said to me to get me to always wear undies, but this has to be the kind of thing that's born of childhood trauma.

I'm so glad you had the nerve for this experiement!

You're brave... I pee in my pants... Oh wait, I wouldn't be wearing any...LOL

I have one dress, and the skirt is too short for me to go commando in it.

Maybe I need to go shopping....

You could take up wearing kilts and never have to apologize

With all the camera phones out there I don't think I would have the nerve to do this. Have a great MM. :)

Hey there Janna,

I'd like to take this time and congratulation you on your awesome blog and inform you that you are in the running for Bestest Blog of the Year. You are up against 104 other excellent blogs that have all qualified by being "Bestest Blog of the Day" in the past 12 months. Voting starts TODAY (July 23rd) and will end in 2 weeks (August 6th). Winners will be announced on August 7th!

The winner will be receiving (at least) a $50 prize and a ton of new visitors I'm sure. Other blogs that finish in the top 10 will also be getting a few new links and extra exposure. Full details of the contest can be found here. So what can you do to increase your chances of winning?

1. Go vote for yourself (duh!)
2. Encourage others to vote for you. Here is the URL: http://www.blankestblank.com/bestest/blog-of-the-year/. You can also find a nifty little graphic to include on your blog here.
3. Encourage others to register before voting. Registered users votes count 3 times more than guests.
4. Keep up the great blogging that got you here in the first place. People are going to be stopping by your blog before voting, and if you have some great, new content, that'll surely increase your vote.

Again, congratulations and good luck! And if you're interested in winning another "blog of the day" award and get in the running for next year's award, check out the new "Blankest Blank Blog Directory." Questions? Please feel free to email me or drop by the forum.

I've only done that once, when T came home from a 2-week seminar out of state. I felt so naughty!

Kai: Your Scottish neighbor is lucky because he/she can just wear a kilt! :)

Meloncutter: Cool, I've always wanted to be someone's queen...

CWM: I have a daring streak sometimes! (get it? "streak"? LOL!)

Mousey: Thanks! I try! :)

Nancy: Try the commando thing; think of it as important preparation for a possible future underwear-shortage. It's good to be prepared.

Lois: Sounds like you and Gracie have the same problem!

Lynda: Or you could just get really drunk one of these days and try the short skirt commando anyway...

Morgen: HEY!!!

Jamie: Exactly!!

Comedy+: Camera phones wouldn't matter, unless a burst of wind blew the dress up past my butt...

Bobby: Thanks. I'll look into that.

Bundle: See? It was FUN, wasn't it? :)

I have to say that this was the most interesting take on "wind" I have seen so far today! I can only imagine how different this post would have been had a stray gust come along and exposed you to the world! You are a brave woman!

Mr. Fabulous said...

Why EVER wear underwear? Toss them away. Flaunt society's conventions!

Janna said...

Linda: Thank goodness there was no stray gust of wind! :o

Mr. Fab: Do you follow your own advice?

Turnbaby said...

MMMMM commando I how I 'roll' unless they are deliciously lovely thongs that match my bra. I have to say there's something so erotic walking around looking all normal but being a little naughty :-)

Janna said...

Turnbaby: You're right! :)

Mert said...

This post cracked me up... I could see myself dong the same thing, only to have the lower half of my dress get snagged on a shelf and then me walking away, but the dress staying hooked on the shelf.:D

Great post, happy MM!

I went underwearless for about a year. It was pretty cool.
I wore a lot of long skirts so I figured it would be ok. I'm not quite sure what got me wearing again. Maybe it was because I decided that laundry was an ok thing to do.

Janna said...

Mert: Stay away from the shelves! It's for your own good!

Natalie: A whole YEAR?? Really? Just think of all the laundry you saved during that time!
