Air has zero calories, right?

Time to try yet another British grocery item!

This week, it's an "Aero" bar.

I was excited to try this because the description reminded me of one of my favorite ex-candy bars.
Back in the 70's, there was something called a "Choco-Lite" bar. It was chocolate which had lots of tiny air bubbles whipped into it.
This made for a really unique texture when you bit into it.
I really loved it... So, of course, the company stopped making it, which seems to be a recurring theme in my life.

Anyway, the Aero bar claimed to be made the same way, full of zillions of tiny air bubbles.

It is indeed!
It's got that same texture I liked in the "Choco-Lite.

I see, from the Wikipedia page, that there used to be a chocolate-orange version of Aero. No doubt they stopped making it because someone sent them an anonymous telegram informing them that Janna would really LOVE that.

"Egad!" They said, their voices full of alarm while still retaining a cool British accent. "We must cease production of this item immediately!"

It's ok.
I'm not bitter.
Well, maybe a little.

Still, I'm glad I got to try the regular version.
It's fun to eat and it brought back good memories.

Shhhh. Don't tell them I liked it.

We have them in Canada too (at least I still think they are available). Yes, I love them too!

Yeah we have them in Canada. I ate them as a kid - my favourite chocolate bar. The orange version didn't last long but there was a mint version with a green interior that was pretty yummy.

Choco-Lite? Never heard of it. Was that a diet chocolate bar?

I love Aero bars, especially the mint ones, bummed if they stopped the orange ones.

Remember the TV show "Life"? I thought it was the best show on television. So they cancelled it.

I hate, hate, hate Aero bars.

I'll keep an eye out for Aero variants.

We have a saying in our family. You know the line in the song MacArthur Park that goes "Someone left the cake out in the rain and I'll never have that recipe again"? Well, whenever things we really like go away forever, we'll say, "It's cake" Or" I've caked it".

The list of things I've caked is too long to recount, but my family says that Madison Avenue should never market to me. It's commercial suicide.

Sounds like you have the same problem.

G-man: I do indeed!

00dozo: Do they have the orange ones up there?

nonamedufus: I saw the mint one in the store too. I'm considering trying it. :)

Spam guy who I deleted: Quit that.

Bob: If they ever bring back the orange ones, and if my store has them, I'm going to buy a whole bunch of them and keep them in the fridge.

MikeWJ: (*gasp*) You hate Aero bars? Really? Honestly? Is there a particular reason why? I must know!

SansPantaloons: Excellent! :)

PattiKen: I know just what you mean! :(

I hate them so they won't stop making them. That's how much I hate them, Janna. I also hate Mexican food, Chinese food, the Porsche Cayman, breasts, television, and vacations. There's more, but I like typing a lot, so I'll stop so I don't get addicted.

MikeWJ: (*Light Slowly Dawns*) Ohhhh! I get it. Sorry I was a little slow on the uptake there. I've been sleep-deprived lately. Yes, by all means, me too! Gosh, I sure do hate those Aero bars! Hate them hate them hate them! See the hate vibes radiating from my pores?
(There, we'll see if that does the trick.)

You don't have Aero bars? What kind of backward third world country are you living in?

Gwen: I wish I knew!

I'll keep an eye open for the orange ones. I do know where I can get the mint ones however.

Gwen: Definitely keep an eye out for the orange ones. I would LOVE to try those. The mint ones are here; I just haven't gotten around to trying them yet. :)
