At least make sure the shorts match the parka

Things you shouldn't do while wearing shorts:

1. Wade in sewage
2. Ski
3. Walk past a crocodile
4. Hunt polar bear
5. Simultaneously wear a sweater and jacket because you can't make up your mind about whether you're hot or cold
.

Since we're in that time of year when the weather keeps bouncing back and forth between winter and summer*, you'd be surprised how often I see #5.

* Last week it was in the 80's. Then, Thursday night, it snowed. Saturday it was in the 40's. Wednesday it's supposed to be in the 70's.

Welcome to Michigan.

What would it be okay to wear while wading in sewage? I'm going to say nothing, not even a leak-proof submarine.

Crazy! Oh, not you. The weather. My 15 year old son thinks shorts, flip flops and a t-shirt are year round wear....we live in Oregon. Home of rain and 50 degree temps.

Jasmine's going to end up married to Monkey Man's kid, I think.

Same here... Buffalo, NY. It was 70 last week or so and then it went to 30 with some snow and now it's 50. The goddamn weather can't make up its mind.

MikeWJ: For a million dollars, I would gladly ride a leak-proof submarine through a vat of sewage.

MonkeyMan: 50 isn't all that bad, I hate to say. Here in Michigan it can get waaaaay below zero, and it can get up in the 90's. 50 is sort of a happy medium. I still wouldn't wear shorts, but I'd be relieved that it was "only" 50 instead of 50 below. :)

Marilyn: She's the same way? Must be a generation thing!

Katie: Did you guys have snow last week too?

Good point. I'd do it for $900,000.

I'd do it for $500,000.

MikeWJ and Marilyn: I guess I could do it for $499,999, although I certainly hope there would be refreshments afterward. After I shower and change clothes and get someone to hose off the submarine, that is.
