Actually, Janna -- and I don't mean to sound critical here -- the U.S. Patent Office awarded a patent on March 19, 2002, for a blasting device using aluminum foil and electric current. It's filed under "US Patent 6357356 - Electric Blasting Device Using Aluminum Foil." I won't bore you with the tecnical details, but as I understand it, this device has many advantages over conventional blasting devices: it's quieter, creates less vibration and almost no spattering fragments. I would say that's at least one item on your list that's improved by electricity, although I definitely don't recommend trying it at home, or in the Detroit airport.

That flash fiction contest I mentioned to you starts today.

You should give it a try. I've got a couple of story ideas but haven't written mine yet.

I trust this list did not come from personal experience...

Come on, an electric earring that lights up and say "I'm Right Ear" would be awesome...well...for the wifey-poo...

MikeWJ: It scares me that you know that.

Marla: It would also make a neat name for a rock band!

Anonymous Spam Comment Which I Deleted: Yes, I can read Russian well enough to know that that was spam.

Wavemancali: I don't know if I would be any good at that, but I'll think about it. :) Good luck with yours!

Grace: Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

VE: LOL. Or you could get something pierced and wear it yourself! Just think of the blog post possibilities! :o

Oh, don't be scared. But you might want to have somebody else start your car for you in the mornings.

MikeWJ: Duly noted. You just want me gone so you can have more BBQ all to yourself.

Are you sure about the Jello? I may have to try that one to confirm.

I loves my BBQ, as you know. Coincidentally, aluminum foil is very useful when you're BBQing, although it doesn't usually involve electricity.

MemphisSteve: Well, I haven't tried it with the strawberry flavored kind yet, so feel free to give it a zap and let me know how that goes.

MikeWJ: I use aluminum foil all the time when I bake stuff. That way the pan doesn't get dirty and I don't have to do dishes. As a result, my life is 79% happier than it would otherwise be.

But Electric Boogaloo works very well. Manual Boogaloo just didn't cut it.

DaOldMan: The manual version did burn more calories, though....
