Insert Leafy Title Here

Various Thoughts Involving Leaves:

1. Hint for those on the Food Network who like wrapping things in grape leaves: That's not the part of the grape plant you're supposed to eat.

2. More people would eat salads if the leaves glowed neon green and made our pee glow neon green for an hour afterward. (Kids especially would love this)

3. On the other hand, if french fries had leaves, no one would ever eat them again. There are some things ketchup just can not fix.

4. If clothes were made entirely out of leaves, it would be really easy to accidentally rip our pants when we bent over. Plus we'd have to watch out for bugs.

if leaves were currency then money would actually grow on trees...

Hmmmm according to legend, Adam and Eve had some fun shedding those leaves.

Dolma tastes wonderful.

Chris: Forest rangers would be rich!! And I would still be poor since there aren't really any trees on my property. Do shrubs count?

Jamie: I had to look up "dolma" on Wikipedia so I could see what you were talking about.
It's here:

I gotta say, none of the pictures look all that appetizing to me. So you can have mine, ok?

I'd eat more salad if it tasted like meat.

Thank God there are no leaves on PIZZA !

Janna said...

Whall: Me too.

Trukindog: Sadly, I've seen taco pizzas that have lettuce on them. But rest assured I have never eaten them.

I don't know about #2.

Earthlingorgeous: I once tried to be a vegetarian. It lasted maybe two weeks. The pull of the double cheseburger is strong. Especially when it has bacon.

JustMe: I guess the only bright side is that clothes would probably be a lot cheaper.

Travis: Aw, c'mon! Neon pee is FUN!

Do they eat the grape leaves? Or is that just what rich people use for aluminum foil? Maybe I need to watch more TV.

Dude, I would SO love to have neon pee! That would be awesome. Sometimes when I take vitamins it gets close. :)

*LOL*

My leaf post is here.

I think people who eat leaves have that Pica disease. Next they'll be eating stones. You need to keep an eye on them and get them medical attention.

I once ate a stuffed grape leaf - the meat and rice inside was flavored with mint... not my favorite taste combo: beef and mint. From now on, I will leaf them alone.

I like leaves. They’re very low maintenance for a long time – they sprout without help, get big, turn green, do nice things like give us shade and suck up all the toxins from our air for us, then they turn beautiful colors and bring lots of tourist dollars, then they fall off and we have to wrench our back raking them up and stuffing them into bags.

Marilyn: Not sure if they eat the grape leaves or not. It might be the same idea as stuffed cabbage leaves. Some people eat the leaf, and some people (like me) hate ugly wilty hot cabbage leaves.

CrazyWorkingMom: It would be cool, wouldn't it?

Wavemancali: Exactly!

Anthony: How exciting! I can almost feel the third kidney growing, even as we speak....

SassyMamaBear: Thanks for visiting!

MyAutismInsights: Glad you liked it! Thanks for visiting.

WillThink4Wine: I'll loan it to you the next time I have a migraine. How's that sound?

TheTeach: I try!

Deb: Very true!!

Morgen: Was that in Egypt?

Xup: I see you made no mention of eating them. Good for you! Spread the word!

Mo and The Purries said...

No, it was at some restaurant when I was growing up.
Didn't see anything wrapped in grape leaves in Egypt.

Janna said...

Morgen: Really? Huh. I figured it had to be an Egypt thing. I guess maybe it's Greek instead. Maybe I should get out more.
