Three months already...

Today marks the three month anniversary of the day I injured my leg.
Yes, that was WAY back on April 20th, can you believe it?
Here's the whole saga of posts where I've mentioned it...
And it STILL isn't completely healed.
It's continuously getting better, though... I think.
It's just veeeeerrryyyy slow.
The worst part is over; all that horrible cellulitis stuff, the pain, the having to go to the hospital...
Currently the wound is about half the size of a kidney bean. The surrounding area itches sometimes but it doesn't hurt.
I wish it would heal faster. Three months seems like an unbelievably long time.
I know slow-healing wounds are a warning sign of diabetes, but I've been tested for that, and the tests always come back fine.
I was going to post a picture, but decided not to gross you out.
Maybe next time.

I know what it's like to have owies that just don't seem to be any better. My chiropractor said my injuries from when Stupid Little Girl hit me nearly 2 months ago are "minor," but it certainly doesn't feel minor from in here!

I'm glad it's getting better albeit slowly. I've had cellulitis..very nasty stuff. Hope it continues to heal well :)

Glad it didn't turn into some kind of nasty infection or flesh eating bacterial disease.

Cheers!

Bundle: Anyone who calls injuries "Minor" aren't the ones with the injuries! :)

Peppermint: It's healing VERY slowly.

Travis: Well, it DID get a nasty infection. That's what cellulitis is.

Of course it did - the humor was humorless there.

Travis: My leg need a humor transfusion.

Neosporin.

Lynda: Tried that. Didn't work. In fact, that was one of my treatments way back during the first few weeks, but still the injury kept getting worse until it developed cellulitis.
I have nothing good to say about Neosporin.

There are so many freaky new "bugs" about, when something like this develops, it's scary! My husband had a fright with "flesh-eating bacteria." Fortunately, the doc was wrong but scared the crap out of us in the meantime!

Gracie: It would freak me out, too, if the doctor told me I had the flesh-eating virus!

Ok, then, I recommend Band-Aid advanced healing bandage or Active-Flex. I used these when I had a mole removed, and I didn't even have a scar.

How it works is you clean the area, and then you cover it with this special bandage. You leave the bandage on after that for about a week. The first day it might still itch. The second day, you notice the bandage hardening, and their may be a blister. This means that it is working. After 7 days, take the bandage off, and put on a new one.

Also, when I used this bandage, I found that I healed a LOT quicker than with ointments.

And actually, I do remember one doctor telling me Neosporin isn't a good product to use. He recommended Bacitracin instead. With the bandaid, you don't use anything though.

Try it.
