Music in my head

Y'know how sometimes you get a song stuck in your head?
Music that just keeps playing the same number of measures over and over and over again?
For me today it's Music For The Royal Fireworks, by George Frederick Handel. I think it's the last movement of the piece. Beautiful stuff with lots of brass instruments.
I've been humming the same sixteen measures all day long.... over and over and over
and
over
and
over.
Don't get me wrong; I love the music, but I wish my brain would move on to other things now! It's been hours of humming the exact same thing.....

Soon I may lose my previously-solid grip on sanity and reality.
I wonder what I'll blog about then?

Desert Songbird, Lynda, and Metalmom: Thanks, you guys! I appreciate the effort, but somehow the music is still in my head! I think I need sedatives or something! (Isn't powdered rhinoceros horn supposed to cure this?)

I so know the feeling--I'm so attuned I'll go to get in the car and a song will pop in my head. It's always the last song I heard in the car--and it will be playing on the CD when I start it.

How can you have listened to that FoW CD and not have THAT running through your head?

It is going to take longer than I thought to beat this classical music out of you...

I'll call you and sing. But I fear afterwards, you may never hear again.

I often find myself singing along to wordless theme music in a movie or on television. I can't seem to break this habit. Do you do this too?

Turnbaby: If you had someone getting in the car with you, you could really freak them out with that.

Mr. Fab: Keep trying. :)

Lynda: Will I go deaf? Will my head explode? Will my spinal cord leap up and throttle my brain, killing me instantly?

Marilyn: Sometimes, yes! :o

Yes. :(

Lynda: Hmmm. I see....

I love to drive alone.

But when I get in the car with the DH I always start humming or singing the song before he starts the car--maybe that's why he looks at me all funny sometimes ;-)

Turnbaby: He probably just thinks you're either psychic or possessed... or just plain nuts. Good luck on making that work for you! :)
