Swamps... they're not just for frogs anymore

This evening I was riding in a car with some family members.
We were driving in the country, and passed a house that STILL had Christmas lights up. (And yes, they were Christmas lights, not Easter decorations). One of my family members started to comment on this, and the sentence started out as follows:
"Oh, that's the house where--"
And I thought, naturally, that the rest of the sentence would pertain to the Christmas lights, but instead the second half went like this:
"--where that guy killed his father and stuffed the body over in the swamp somewhere."
(!!!)
I hadn't heard of this newsworthy item, which apparently happened about a year ago.
I'm imagining a scenario where the father wanted to take down the lights, and the son said "No, leave them up!!" and it all degenerated into bloodshed from there.
Hey, it could happen.

I can see where x-mas lights in April could lead to murder.

The murder wasnt the result of one of them wantin gthem down. The argument was about whether they should blink or not

We have someone who last I checked had a nativity up still. Two of the wise men were down.

There are swamps in Michigan?

lynda: there are lots & lots of swamps in southern Michigan!!!

janna: I pass a house every day to/from work that still has two plywood Jack-o-lantern cut outs by the front porch!!!!

And yeah, I think that christmas lights still up (especially if LIT) still in April could land someone in a swamp... can't you see Lee going all "holiday police" on their hillbilly asses???

Mr. Fab: Bah, humbug! :)

Natalie: Boggles the mind, doesn't it?

Matt-Man: Ah, now it all makes sense.

Onionboy: That'll teach ya! :)

Danielle: Scary but true!

Lynda: Yes, it's the only thing we have in common with Florida.

Morgen: Yup, the lights were lit! Lee would not have been amused. ... Jack o'Lanterns??? Seriously?? Wow, people need to start marking their calendars or something.

Now that's just great. Now I'll have scary dreams about crazy people in houses and Christmas lights and swamps and horrible ugly awful things.

Where's my woobie?

Travis: What's a woobie?
