I bet paper spools taste terrible...

While listening to NPR this afternoon, one of the talk show guests said lots of people are in the military because they eat a paper spool.
My brow furrowed in confusion for a moment as I wondered what the hell that meant.
Then, as the conversation continued, I realized that he'd actually said lots of people are in the military because they need to pay for school.
Ok, so I'm going deaf in my old age.

Eh? What'd you say, young missy? Something about eating your own stool?

Mr. Fab: They've gotta taste better than canned asparagus...

Morgen: Even THAT'S gotta be better than canned asparagus.

That is funny. It is funny how what we hear can be way different than what was actually said. I experienced this biting Natalie on her random lyrics. I double checked the lyrics to a song, yet to be answered. And I have always heard "holy ground was my bed last night" when it was really "cold ground". I listened again carefully to the song and the actual lyric sounded odd for the first time.
"Paper spools" is so funny.

Danielle: That's happened to me on quite a few songs too. Once in a bookstore I saw that there was a book comprised solely of misinterpreted song lyrics. It was called "'Scuse Me While I Kiss This Guy" (a misinterpretation of Jimi Hendrix's "
Scuse Me While I Kiss The Sky.)
LOL!
